Fintan has been awarded the distinction of Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain.

The Royal Photographic Society is an educational charity promoting both the art and science of photography. The RPS seeks to promote the highest standards of photography and encourage the public appreciation of photography. The RPS is one of the world's oldest photographic societies with continuous existence since 1853 and has a membership of over 11,000 photographers worldwide.

The Royal Photographic Society's Distinctions are one of the most widely recognised and respected photography awards throughout the world.

Licentiate requires the submission of ten digital images and a presentation layout for assessment against the Licentiate Assessment criteria:

* Technical Camera Work

* Artistic Visual Awareness

* Communication (visual narrative and presentation).

The Presentation Layout

The presentation layout is often referred to as the ‘eleventh image’. It is an important part of the submission, and the selection and arrangement of the individual images in the hanging plan requires care and attention. It must show:

a balanced and cohesive presentation; and
a diverse range of approaches, skills, and techniques.
